advertise other people's items?

What do you think about having at least a week intensively advertising anyone and everyone's items, not just our own using whichever social media you prefer.

For instance use this link but change the final page number to a random one of your choice and post items from that page or nearby pages so you get as many different shops as possible?  Then repost other people's posts as well to spread the word as widely as we can.  I just feel that posting our own items is shouting into the wind, we need to post lots to get the word out

I'm pretty picky about what I post and I only do Twitter. I tried one of those teams a few years ago where everyone posted in a thread and everyone was supposed to promote those items. Problem was there were some resellers posting and I didn't want to promote them. I contacted the team captain but she was unwilling to bend the rules. Therefore, I left the team. This was on Etsy and back when resellers were not supposed to hide in the handmade category.

All that aside, I've been retweeting numerous items from ArtYah and will continue to do so but I'm also not that consistent due to some personal things going on right now. Trying to do it daily but sometimes not possible.

Also, I think the tiny photos don't work well in Twitter. I think they get lost in the flood of other activity. So, I don't tweet from my listings but use my own photos and create tweets directly on Twitter instead of tweeting from the ArtYah site. Craig probably has his hands full and doesn't have the time to make changes to this. I'm only mentioning it because I feel the Tweets are not noticed as the photos are too small. Can't speak to how they show up on other types of social media.

One more thing: When I tweet an Etsy item, I always click over to that item in the person's shop and favorite it. This type of activity is encouraged by Google (the clicking over not the hearting). It also improves that item's rating in Etsy's algorithm. If ArtYah had something similar to hearting it would increase ArtYah's Google ranking as well as the shop and item. Please don't think I'm trying to make ArtYah like Etsy - I left Etsy for many good reasons - just pointing out that clicking through to view the product one is promoting is what really boosts the ranking in Google. Hope I made this clear. My mind is focused on other things today. Ugh! :/

Further to my comment about only doing Twitter - I joined the Facebook ArtYah but there is so little activity there so, sadly, I don't check it very often.
