My lovely wife broiled a large chicken for dinner last night, so I figured it was my turn to cook tonight.

I used the leftover chicken to make a homemade pot pie. Nothing fancy, just the chicken, some mixed vegetables, onion, chicken broth, etc in a pre-made pie crust from the grocery store. It's cooking now and should be ready in about 10 minutes. It smells great,

What are you having for dinner tonight?

I want what you are having. [wink] I had hot wings and garlic knots from my favorite Italian Rest.

I have no idea!
I guess I should start thinking about that.
The pot pie sounds really good, it is just too hot to cook.

We had a break in the heat in Syracuse today, Linda. It was in the 60's here all day today which is why I decided to use the oven.

I like to cook outside on the grill, or just make sandwiches when it's too hot out.

I love fried chicken, Norma's!

Sounds great Cratelabels!

Tonight I made an Internet recipe that mocks a traditional St Louis Amighetti's sandwich. (Ham, roast beef, genoa salami, pickles and such, with a special horseradish based sauce.). It turned out really well. We only get Amighetti's special sandwiches once a year when we visit family in St Louis.

I made a Goats Cheese and Onion Chutney pie in pastry containing chopped rosemary, this was a first time try for this recipe and I will definitely be making it again.  I did (most unusally) follow the recipe exactly to start with and it was supposed to make four individual wrapped pies, after the first two I realised I was going to have a lot of pastry left over so put it in a flan tin instead - much better idea [biggrin]

Sounds good, Christine! I also only follow the recipe exactly the first time I make a dish. After that, I have a better idea of what I should tweak to make it better (or what I can substitute if I'm out of something)

I once made some Pate and did not have bacon - so used oranges instead - it was very nice, next time I added cointreau as well
