Our weather has come through with a relief from the heat and a gentle rain so far.  Most would think 80's would be really cool compared to other areas but being a Wisconsinite we like our cooler weather. 60's-70's is perfect for many of us and a perfect day for staying inside and working on our creations/listing/chatting in the forums. Ü

Anyways today is pumpkin day for me. I make pumpkins in 12 different sizes.
From about 1-½"H x 2"W to 8"H x 12"W.

So off to search through my fabric stash and get to creating my Pumpkin Patch!
Make it a great day everyone!

The pumpkins are darling. I am getting a late start today so am going to pare back on what I had planed. I have some artist trading cards to finish up and a couple of toilet tank toppers from my quilt shop to finish. I am also working on a quilt for my grandson who is getting married in September that is looming over everything I do. LOL  We have had rainy days all week and it cooled down to 80s but humidity stayed high of course so it still felt hot. I had hoped to start on Fall projects this week but am playing catch up so hopefully next week. Enjoy your pumpkin day. Debbie

Loading up this shop and combining 2 other shops on other venues.

As my items end on Etsy I am adding them here.

Trying to do 6 a day.

It is a bit cooler here. High 80s. Yeah.

Sandy

I think your hearts are really cute Emilie

I have been adding tags to some of my items, just doing a few a day as it is not the most exciting of jobs, doing my usual work plus started on this 10 x 12 " pastel painting (or drawing, but I can't draw so it must be a painting).  Not finished yet, has reached the stage where I will have to leave it for a while and then go back and try and see it with fresh eyes to finish it off- so any critique appreciated.  I did the little 3x3 acrylic moon over the sea and thought I would try a bigger one

I agree, Christine.  In my eyes the moon is the main character in this painting, so I would go with one a little bigger.  I love the way the moonlight spills across the water.

I love your little moon painting and this is looking fabulous. I agree that it needs something else but can't put my finger on it. My eyes are drawn to the rocks in the picture, not the moon. Be sure you post the finished picture. This is going to be one of my favorites.

We finally got a break in the humidity here in Georgia earlier this week. High 80's with low humidity is almost like winter in August.

Been taking advantage and getting stock painted / distressed and sealed, since most of my work is done outdoors.

Going to work on taking some better pictures on a few items that show up a little dull on the crisp whiteness of the Artyah background (glad for the little kick in the tail to improve a few listings)

Will try to get a few more items listed as my 1st goal is 100 (but will list more as time permits in the future - hoping to grow my shop)

Another cool day here and rain, ... it's really starting to feel like fall. My favorite time of the year.

Finally have some extra things made up so I can start listing more here, first goal is 50 which is my usual increment for getting things going ...Yeah!

Christine, your painting reminds me of my younger days growing up on a lake. The moon always looked so big when out over the water.  I can visualize a mermaid sitting on the large rock, gazing up at the moon...

Hi Emile

It is strange how big the moon looks when close to land/water and then gets smaller the higher it is in the sky, pleased it bought back memories [smile]

High of only 102 today. I will be catching up today - taking photos, listing a few things, weaving in yarn ends on some mittens, putting patterns away, and, best of all, deciding what to knit next and choosing the yarn. I finished a gorgeous hat last night and may do another in different colors.

I'm not an art critic, but I see things in wood and I used to fish a lot at night, and you asked, so I suggest you raise the moon a couple of hours which would change the reflection and maybe put a small boat somewhere, so viewers can put themselves in to the picture enjoying the beautiful moonlight and view.

Don,
That's exactly what we did. My brothers and I use to fish for walleye. Than if we got too close to where the loons were nesting they would call out. Talk about eerie ... full moon and loons. My brothers and I growing up on this lake learned how to mimic them. We would call out and get them to answer back. Do kids even do stuff like that anymore? Crazy fun times ... lol

It's a similar bird to a duck or goose, not good at walking on land tho', excellent divers and swimmers,  black and white with a red eye .... kinda spooky looking. Actually it's been around for a very long time supposedly dating back prehistorically tho' some debate that ...best way I can describe the sound it makes is very haunting, and has lots of different calls depending whether they are under stress or just calling out to each other.

Google ... common loon or click on You Tube common loon. Once you hear that sound you will probably never forget it... Ü My brothers and I could mimic everyone of their calls, course one would lose our voices for awhile if we did it too much. You have to pitch your breath and voice to the back of your throat and force air out... that might be more than one wants to know but I've done it out and about and people will look around wondering where the loon is ... LOL
