Hi All,

With Spring just around the corner, who is planning to sell and or attend local craft shows?

I have found that the craft shows are a great way to meet people and get the word out about ArtYah and what Artyah is all about.

A craft show is a great place to showcase your artwork and what you have to offer. Talk about you, because that is what makes you, YOU. Personal stories about how you made your item and how it fits with your potential buyers is what a craft show is all about.

My personal belief is that a great majority of folks are looking for high quality
HANDMADE items and they are very willing to pay a little more for something that
you poured your heart and soul into.

We are also kicking around an idea of how to get the word out about ArtYah at craft shows.

Perhaps we can get a digital print for people to download and that way potential customers can also buy from your store on ArtYah.

Thank you,

Craig

Do you have enough sellers in a close geographical area to stage an Artyah Craft show?  Or maybe purchase a stall between a group as doing one for the first time on your own is very daunting so if two or three could get together and have a stall together would that be practical, then it could be the ArtYah group of A and B or A, B and C ?   It could be as simple as having a sign say that when they are not at the fair then their items are available from ....

I was thinking about this yesterday when I was looking at local-ish craft fairs and wishing I had someone to go with.

I think this does work to a certain degree, remember when doing shows when I first started out online and telling people about both Ebay and Etsy. Many had not heard of Etsy but everyone knew about Ebay but than again Ebay advertised via TV where as I don't believe Etsy really has ...other than being mentioned on some show periodically. Many people still don't know about Etsy so I think the ads ArtYah has on back of the magazines are a wonderful start and I'm sure as ArtYah gets rolling a TV ad would be nice but know they are expensive. Due time as the saying goes...

With that, since I now have an established base of repeat customers from other sites, for me sending along a card in any sales from those online sites is a given and I have a special card made up to promote ArtYah. So hopefully, ArtYah will become known as the marketplace for "true handmade".

I'm signed up for a craft faire in Elk Grove Ca. in April. I've put my shop on vacation mode due to no sales. I do have good sales at the faires.

Good morning all! In case you don't know, the Almond Festival in Esparto Ca., is coming up on 25 February 2018! It's a huge affair. Thousands of people attend every year! I'm not a part of the festival, but, I am setting up a table in front of the high school. This will be my third year selling my candles there, and I've done pretty well! Alot of other crafters sell their art also, outside of the festival, and do well.
So, hope to see some of you in Esparto!

FestivalNet.com is a website not only for those involved in the festival circuit, but for promoters and any creative person. The site is crammed with resources and includes a marketplace, gallery, community forums, videos and more. Sellers can open shops, with memberships starting at a free basic model. This site is also a great resource for locating festivals in which you might want to participate.

Am I the only one here from Vancouver, BC? The Creative Jewellers Guild is hosting a show & sale at VanDusen Gardens on Mother's Day.

Hi SterlingByDix.
I'm not sure how many Canadians sellers there are on Artyah. I'm from the Montreal area of Quebec. Thanks, ArtsyCraferyStudio for the link to FestivalNet.com

I am in Edmonton, Alberta. I (hopefully) have my first trade show coming up next month. I have applied to become a vendor at a trade show happening in town. I don't know the first thing about selling at a trade show but fortunately one of my girlfriends has sold at several shows and will help me though it.

Your bookmarks are so pretty, Sherry. And the way they are put in plastic sleeves, will make them last for years and years. Your tags (key words) are spot on.
