Hi All,

I just wanted to throw out a big THANK YOU for hanging in there with us while we make a mess of things again.

The good news is that we are moving along with our new platform build. Yes, it will take some time, but we will get there.

I have also done some reading in on the other places' forum and have found that as good as I thought that I was at customer service, I have my shortcomings.

To those people that I have offended or upset, Huge apologies. It is very hard trying to run a site that no one knows about and make a go of it. All the while being pulled into a hundred different directions.
What can I say but I am sorry.

While I am not trying to defend myself... In my own defense, some things I said or did were true (and I regret it) and on the flip side, there are things people are writing that are not true and or did not happen. I will leave it at that and I will try to do my best to be better at what I need to do and get done.

Thank you,

Craig

Thank you, Craig. I accept your apology on behalf of many, I'm sure. It is my hope and prayer that Artyah will succeed and grow, and that you and Laura will find fulfillment in this enterprise. I will be monitoring the progress and anticipating the rebuild.

Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Thank you for reaching out and taking the time to connect with the sellers! Much appreciated! And we all say things we could've filtered out - in the end what matters is out reflection and actions on it - kuddos to you!
I can't even begin to imagine the resources going into this (of all variety), frustration that comes from setbacks and as the artisans, artists and collectors here know, how hard it is not to take criticism personally, when we've worked so hard on our projects.

Thank you!

Thank you Nodsu!

We have been busy just trying to figure out how to survive the online world, and not able to take care of the people that are closest to us with their needs.

The new build will have all of the necessary infrastructure and we will be in better control of what will need to be added or removed as far as features go, from an admin level.

Thank you

Craig

Happy Holidays Craig, to you, your family and all here on Artyah!

In 16 years of selling online, I have seen the ups and downs of almost all of the selling sites available for handcrafted items.
I can't even imagine trying to run "the show", without sometimes saying or doing something that you say to yourself "oops!". I sure know that I do that in my life! Thank you for stepping up with your words today.

To all during the sometimes stressful ups and downs of online selling, and especially at the Holidays,
"Don't forget to Breathe!"

Don't forget to look out the windows at least and enjoy the long view, it is not just what is 18" in front of our faces.

Mele Kalikimaka to all!

That's unfortunate, Craig. Just remind yourself that you cannot please everyone and you can only do the best that you can. It's sad that people have to lie. Nothing you can do about it and to try to correct them will only encourage them to continue. So, happy to hear you'll just let it go.

Due to issues with my hubby's health and an upcoming lifestyle change for us both, I made the decision to stop online selling. I've been doing it since 2002 and have enjoyed the challenges, the good people I've met, and tried to learn from the situations that didn't go as well as they should have.

Thank you, Craig, for this venue and your commitment and follow-through. Hoping the rebuild goes smoothly and quickly and wishing you and yours all the happiness ever during this holiday season and in the years to come. ~ Jae

Thank you, Craig. I appreciate all your efforts (not to mention having a Plan B). I'll be hanging in for sure. Wishing you & yours a merry Christmas and a wonderful year ahead.

Hi JJ,

So sorry to hear about your husband's health. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

As far as I know, I am going to be the best I can be... Again.

I have learned what to say and do and will not allow myself to react the way that I have in the past.

Yes, the online world is a huge undertaking and challenge. I guess that is half the battle.

The other part is pleasing everyone. It is true that you cannot please everyone but I have to make that the goal. There will be no other way.

I hope that you and your hubby's new lifestyle change is for the better.

Have a wonderful holiday season!!

Thank you so much for all of your support!

Hi Deb,

Thank you so much for your kindness.

I would like to use a quote from a Beatles song,

ArtYah is "A Long And Winding Road"

It will never be perfect for everyone.

I hope that everyone will try again to make it perfect,
When we get things going in the new platform.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and your family!

Thanks for the update, Craig. I must say that my partial intent in coming to the forum today was to say "Good-bye" and that I was going to allow my items to expire. But your heartfelt message has stopped me cold and I will hang in. It has been 1 1/2 years for me here and I am not satisfied with my sales BUT your efforts are appreciated so I will stay and do what I can. Happy Holidays! hanukkah_christmas_card-rd8072d67f49a4160b8874137e15b522a_xvuak_8byvr_.jpg

I also upset someone with a generalisation I made which they took personally for which I am sorry.  I always try to treat others how I would like to be treated myself,  I know I have a weird sense of humour and sometimes this goes awry.

I think you are doing a great job here Craig. From what I have read you never anticipated so many would join ArtYah when you first created it for your wife and a small group of friends but you have made everyone welcome and have grown and expanded the site to try and fit everyone's needs; at I imagine a great strain on your pocket and sanity at times so it is not surprising, like any of us who have worked so hard on something and then get criticised for it, you feel hurt and might occasionally and very understandably say some things that don't go down well.   We all do it.  We are all human and can only try our best.  You have a lot of people who have been here a lot longer than I have and but I have seen many, many improvements and have been impressed with your customer service - the messages are read and have individual replies, very unusual for any customer services I have come across.

To you and all your family ~
