FWIW, I've had various keys stop working on my laptop.  (I type a LOT and wear keys out.  OK...I admit I also eat lunch at my computer.  On occasion, keys also get jammed with crumbs and become damaged.)

I've replaced  keyboards several times now.  All that was required was a $15 replacement board, a small screwdriver, a how-to video from you-tube, and a little bit of nerve!  It's a bit more complex than changing a light bulb, but not a whole lot!

I have a laptop but use a cordless keyboard and mouse. I may have to replace it because I never use the correct fingers and all the lettering is wearing off. I could get some tiny stick on letters, I suppose. [biggrin]
