I would like to take a survey.

I would to know if everyone or anyone would have any objections to me posting a few of the sales that take place for the day
maybe with a link to the item that sold even?

I am asking because for one, I want to be as sensitive as possible with everyone and get an idea if this is a good idea.

This way everyone can see we are selling items and I am not just saying that items are getting sold.

I agree with @RockfordPlace because somehow it seems that it could cause a problem in the future. I can't imagine what that problem would be, but maybe it has to do with how RockfordPlace termed it: seeing other shops business. It seems like your idea would benefit shops and give extra exposure, and I understand your reason for the suggestion. It seems like you could share something, though, that for some reason a seller would rather that you had not shared. It would also take extra time and effort to ask permission each time you planned to share.

I vote no to seeing items posted that have been sold.

My suggestion is that you could create a thread and invite sellers to post their sales. If more members who participated in discussions at G+ would become active here, maybe that thread would give a good indication of what is selling here. You could also ask sellers to submit to you the sales that they want shared. How many participants you would get is questionable, maybe not enough and maybe not consistently enough for your purpose.

Without a viable alternate plan, people will just have to believe you.

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree. That is why I asked the question and again trying to be sensitive about it as possible. I love your thoughts and maybe we can
figure out the best way to approach this. I absolutely do not want to do anything that is going to make anyone uncomfortable.

I also vote against it.
WE trust you to tell us the truth without having to see the proof

I vote "no" to a place showing sold items but like the idea of having a thread where sellers can share what they sold if they choose.

I vote "no" if this is shown to other sellers.  Reason:  Some sellers are doing ok and that is terrific BUT for myself and others who may have sold items but sales are very scarce at this time, I believe, would be so frustrating to face all the "sold items" of someone else and knowing that we are not making sales also.  Sort of depressing....just my opinion.  Wish our sales could be shown to the public, not to another seller.

Doesn't matter one way or the other for me ... Have always felt more power to anyone that is able to have a great day whether it be sales in business or just a happy relaxing day!

... and if I were to be jealous about someone having more sales, that just would mean I'd better work a little harder and find out where one needs to improve on any given selling point. As of right now, know I just need to get a lot more listed and I mean a lot. However, since I do sell elsewhere I'm playing catch up more often than not ...so that's where I stand.

It's all good!!!  Ü

Let's be clear, it is not "just" your opinion. It is a very important opinion.

I too would like to figure out something for that. It is my hope that we can offer something in our next build to show new potential buyers that sales are happening. I received a phone call today from a person. They said they were making sure that our site wasn't phony. After speaking to them, they told me they were looking to make a purchase and they just wanted to make sure that our site was not a scam

I remember now that I've seen a couple of sites years ago that had running, live time widgets on the homepage, one site at the bottom and one site had it midway (one was the defunct Goodsmiths) that showed items as they were sold. If you added something like that:

  1. I don't think we are busy enough yet, and the widget would repeat too much since there are not enough regular sales, and then that would look fake or contrived for sure, even though some of the repeats could be for variables/multiples/repeat purchases,
  2. sellers should be able to opt out.

You know, Etsy had a flash program called Time Machine2. We all loved it! It showed items that were just listed, and items that just sold.
I always thought that it gave me inspiration and sparked my creativity.
Made me get to work so that I could see my listing as it came on, and we would run open it when we sold something so we could see that too!
Go to any "Etsy Oldtimers" posts, and you will see us all reminisce about that program.

Plus, on Ebay you can see what any seller has sold. And on Etsy, unless a seller has their sales marked private, you can see what they have sold.

So, I don't have a problem with it (that I can think of).

First a suggestion and then my answer.

Is it possible for you to include a yes/no tick box option "Can we use this sale for publicity purposes" or, probably better for you "Tick this box if you do not wish this sale to be used for Artyah/Your Shop publicity purposes" and for those that say agree maybe have a ribbon running along the front page headed "recent sales on Artyah"

I would not necessarily want the *price shown but otherwise I have no problem with my sales being advertised.  I believe that success begets success so if I get a sale I want it shouted loud and clear.  As far as I am aware I do everything legally and I pay my taxes so have nothing to hide 😃

*this is expecially true with my crochet items as making the same pattern in a different yarn/sized crochet hook can drastically change the time taken to make it and not everyone would understand or appreciate this.
