Hang in there...I'm about to abandon etsy as well. Been on it for 5 years and only have had a little over 180 sales. That's not good compared to other shops and specialties. Will be moving to another state soon so I'm going to pack up all my jewelry making, glassware, and paper products for now and start anew in 2018! If you're interested in any destash items such as beads, etc...let me know because I have lots to get rid of. I've already destashed the rubber stamps I don't want any longer, but have a lot of beading wire, beads, etc.

Blessings,

My .02 cents worth .... I truthfully haven't been able to keep up with sales elsewhere but I have not given up on Art Yah at all. Time has been the factor for myself, and some personal situations. My sales at Etsy were down by 80%+ from Etsy in Oct but now up the same in Nov. ...Ebay up too. With that being said which doesn't mean anything to anyone else but me ... I keep hearing rumblings of Etsy raising either seller's fees and or transaction fees, and we all know about Ebay fees. The new CEO for Etsy originally being from Ebay I'm also guessing that's pretty much a given. I imagine if ... and when that might come about there will be an exit again from Etsy as well ...just like Ebay 's exit several years back  when many handmade artisans went to Etsy and really built up that site.

Than there's always all the constant testing and fluctuation of clumping with preference being given to always the same few ...reminds me when the same people were always on the front pages of Etsy many moons ago. Etsy changing the definition of "Handmade" for their own personal gain to  "Manufactured handmade" was and is  a huge joke which allowed much of the re-sellers to take over big time. One hears that over and over.....

Having been in sales most of my life there is just something about Art Yah that strikes that cord that says this will be a successful selling site. Know how much time I need to keep up with everything.  Can't imagine what setting up a site like this would take. My son is basically a layman between people that set up programs and people that eventually use them. He told me some of those programs cost lots of dollars and also different browsers / phones / etc. have different programs/set ups that work better for some and less for others. Talk about confusing ....

Art Yah could be the selling site of "REAL Handmade", Vintage and Supplies and it will get known for that if it stays true to it's original idea.... Lets hope so ... there are plenty of us out there for sure!

I have gotten more views, including for my Crimson Crystal Dragonfly Brooch, where I got 62 views since it was put up yesterday (!). It's the only one which has gotten so many. I just wish one of them bought the thing.

I have abandoned eBay altogether since reading several articles about the site, and what I read did not give me any encouragement to stay. So now ArtYah is where I feel there will be progress.

Oh, well. We're closer to Black Friday now, and people are starting to shop in earnest for the holiday. Good luck to everybody!

!

I tweeted your brooch yesterday and other ArtYah members retweeted which shows this is one way of getting ArtYah known.

Emilie...thanks for your 2 cents worth...I for one appreciate it. I'm going to stick with ART YAH and see how Etsy does after the holidays since all my supplies, crafts, and items for sale on both sites are in the packing stage because we're relocating to a new state.

Anyway, ETSY is OVER SATURATED and it's not easy competing with store owners who do the same as I do. SO, I'm either going to have to change my game plan or suffer thru slow sales...either way, I enjoy creating so it's okay.

Blessings,

@ArtYah Twitter I have now signed up for Twitter and am following you. I have done a few posts. some not having to do with ArtYah, but it looks ridiculously easy to post and send tweets your way. I posted my shop and also plan to pick up more to follow, but I am only one person so I may tweet slowly through the holiday. Hopefully this will get interest in my sites and ArtYah shop so I am looking for followers. Thanks for the advice. Send tweets to me @t_moore237.

On ArtYah, there are daily sales.

We are spending thousands of dollars on a monthly basis in advertising.

Please remember we are not etsy.

Etsy has 50 million items listed on their site for sale. ArtYah only has 35,000 items for sale.
We have a lot of items in the scheduled folderthat have not been listed for sale yet. If we can get more items on our site, it will attract more buyers.

Thanks,

ArtYah

I did find a site AFTCRA but not sure how their sales are. Has anyone heard of them?

I wish you all great sales and hope to hear back if you have any feedback.

I've made recent sales at my 3 Bonanza shops. They were not through outside visitors though. And one of the products I pulled from my eCrater shop to Bonanza the make it convenient for the buyer. Bonanza gets a lot of flack from sellers, especially new shops, for not having traffic. Though Bonanza is not handmades-dedicated, to me it's the best site that's not. That's why I'm still there. Many sellers use Bonanza as a holding place, while they focus on listing elsewhere.

I have, I think, 8 sales here - but every single one is from "my own" loyal buyer. No stranger sales. Hopefully one day.

I have listed more artwork prints for sale here on Artyah, including some more recent work. I have one more but I have to wait until tomorrow to rephotograph it.

I am going with the jewelry I have listed so far before I start any new pieces. I am waiting until after the "Small Business" shopping day to start work, but I would like to see some sales before I feel comfortable with making more things which will likely sit.

I am surprised to see there are only 35,000 objects d'art on this site. I had the impression that there were more, but then it is a relatively new site so I am happy with what's going on now. Given that the listing fees are very reasonable I should not complain.

I got a stranger sale ! That was nice! I'm itching to ask how she found me.

Congrats on the sale. When I have a sale, my thank you e-mail asks how they found me. "If" they answer it is always helpful so go ahead and ask!

No, ArtYah is not Etsy, it is not full of copyright and intellectual property infringing items and when they do pop up you are very good at dealing with it when reported to you, that deals with quite a few million of the extra items they have [biggrin]

If you keep ArtYah truly handmade (and supplies and vintage) and legal, this will be its strongest draw for customers

I have read all the posts here and although I understand the frustration about lack of sales, I have a good feeling about Artyah.  It may be slow now, but I will be here and ready for when it really takes off.  I too sell on another site which is slow, but am not discouraged enough to quit.

Happy sales to everyone.
