I just happened to be looking though pages to see changes and went to my sales page and got excited when I saw a sale from 9.10.17 - until I realised this was not 9th October but the unpaid order from 10th September - I so wish the Americans would put their dates the correct and logical way around, ie  day month year [biggrin]

This is too funny! I was thinking the same thing about but the other way around!

LOL, Christine and Mia. We are such holdouts here in the states. At my age if I had to learn the metric system, I'd want to shoot myself. As for the dates, that would be an easier change but one that would cause me to stop and think each time.

As to sales, I joined Artyah from the beginning and had two sales - whoo hoo! However, I left for awhile to focus on other things and came back when I left Etsy due to the PayPal issue. So no sales since coming back but I have very little in my shop and have only promoted sporadically. I have some personal issues to address so really haven't pushed it. However, slowly adding more items and very happy to report increased views.

Very hopeful that the new platform will make a difference but meanwhile, I'll just keep listing and promote when I'm able, and once my personal issues subside a bit, I can go full force.

I still think in inches and always have to convert - ie 4 inches is 10 cm and multiply from there

none for me at all. lots of lookie lou's but no sales. I'm ready to quit as well. I haven't had a sale on Etsy except for some of destash items lately. So, running a sale on etsy for NOV and if nothing sells, pulling everything off and taking a break.

I did find a site AFTCRA but not sure how their sales are. Has anyone heard of them?

I wish you all great sales and hope to hear back if you have any feedback.

Blessings,

Recently, I read somewhere that a seller was saying that they haven't had an update from the owner of Aftcra in months, and neither has the newsletter been updated. Just checked and no post to Facebook page since May. Of course, it was a very promising venue a few years ago. I joined but never opened shop. One thing I wish they'd show is how many sales a seller has had. Without a community/forums a site seems dead when there is a lack of seller stats for visitors to view. This would show some action on the site other than just crickets. Each shop homepage only shows location, name of owner and # items for sale. You do know that all listings must be $10+ right, and the FVF fee is 7.0%?

Thanks so much for getting back to me regarding AFTCRA!!!
I read on their site about the 7% and wasn't too happy with that.
I signed up for their newsletter and nothing yet.
I tried to find a group forum and nothing yet.

I'm happy you replied back because I won't be going with them now.
It's just frustrating as hell to work so hard on crafts, as you know, and no
sales.

I've decided after November when my 25% off entire etsy shop closes, i'm taking an extended vacation from all shops.

Again, I appreciate you.

Blessings,

Ok, Alana. Glad to help. Wishing you a wonderful hiatus after November. If you love online selling I look forward to seeing you when you return.

I love online selling so I look forward to emailing you again. We're in the process of relocating in the real near future, so a lot of things will be changing for me with online selling.

Hope your $ales are above and beyond expected!!!

Blessings,

I signed up with Amazon handmade around September.

I got a lot of sales from there before Halloween.

I missed November relisting day here. I think I will come up here later. [biggrin]

Never give up on any selling avenue.

Hi! Thanks so much for your feedback. I'm so happy you're doing great with Amazon Homemade. I applied, but they weren't looking to sell what I make. I know ebay may be one way to go eventually. I don't really want to pay for a website at this time but that's another thing to look at.

I've put my etsy and Artyah on vacation since we're in the process of relocating so packing up my supplies and handmade items soon. I can't worry about selling this house, looking for another house in New Mexico, and keeping my shops open at this time.

But I'll be back after the holidays and hopefully be in a better frame of mind by then.

Happy $ales!!!

Alana,

I have put items on Ebay, too.

I only sold 4 items there.

I like Handmade amazon. I got my first order in the first week.

You should have another try to apply there. I waited for half a year and got approved.

Hope this helps!

Having read all the other comments on this topic, I am not new to the lack of sales business. I spent the summer working on improvements to my own site, then noticed that there was a 5 cent listing promotion and added some more items to my shop here on ArtYah. It is still rather small, compared to my site. I had just abandoned Etsy, and I'm about to shut down my listings on eBay. I charge what I think is fair but I think the lack of sales is due to other things getting in the way. The economy is not as rosy as others would paint it. Everyone is holding their breath about wages, tax cuts, and other impediments to shopping. I work in two "niche" markets: books, jewelry, and other small gift items, so it's true that they may be oversaturated. Even then 2017 has been the worst year ever for sales. I get a lot of views but no one is willing to spend their money. I just hope that sales will pick up closer to the holidays.
