No sales here either. I saw an increase in views when I listed a few things on 5 cent Friday but they've been at a standstill since then.
Sales have been very slow for me on Etsy too. Year over year for the past 3 years sales keep decreasing. Where this used to be my full time job I'm almost down to hobby status now. It's depressing.

Emerson...so many of us are in the same boat. I've had 1 sale in the 4 months I've been here. So many updates/improvements need to be made (like shopping cart, etc.) and we understand Craig is working on them. I'm getting concerned (like others). We are entering into the Season so there is just cause to be concerned.

I'm also on Etsy and sales were great about a month ago. Then nothing. We Sellers there fight a never ending battle of 'rotation' or 'sharing the love' so to speak (among other less desirable changes).

I believe the public is gearing up for the Season and can only hope we will all start seeing a positive turn around in sales. Some people already seeing it I understand.

So hang in there...even if it's by your fingernails!

Thanks for the encouragement SewNSew!

I know what you mean about sharing the love on Etsy. I can see definite patterns where my shop is "turned off" for days at a time. Then all of a sudden multiple sales will come in within hours of each other. Then I'm turned off again.

This is October and no sales for Halloween or Fall.
Advertising is great, but for sellers, we need advertising where
it will reach our target audience. Although those publications that
advertise Artyah is very nice, they cater more to future sellers here
rather than future buyers. I love them for inspiring ideas for myself.
I have been optimistic up to this point, but wondering whether it is worth all my efforts.

I have mentioned this before, and it seems to be proving to be correct!  Buyers are fine with the places they already use for shopping!  Some etsy sellers were upset about different things over there, but the
buyers don't know anything about that stuff - or care!  They really have no reason to switch!  Sales are still fine over there for many of us.
We are heading into Christmas season (mine's already started over there, it seems), with no shopping cart here, poor search, no way to arrange our shops the way we want them, etc. etc. after more than a year.
My listings expire at the end of October.
Oh well, Craig had steady sales with nothing that was handcrafted!  I calls 'em as I sees 'em!
I'm sure no one will respond to this, but I know others who are thinking the same thing.

I have thought the same thing. People who buy finished products don't read magazines about how to create those products. We needs advertisements in places like Facebook, ones that show Artyah as a PLACE to shop (as opposed to showcasing one item that won't interest most people).

Maybe Craig will see this. I really don't think he has the time to visit the forums anymore tho.

I am giving it thru December and if my sales don't pick up here as well as other places I am going to start selling out my supplies and figure out something else to do.
Maybe do some sewing for myself like I used to do. I used to make just about all of my clothes even when I was in High school

I have been on here for 4 months.  A lot of people have stated they have been here a year plus.  I can't speak for anything farther back then 4 months.  I can honestly say I have never seen anyone try as hard to make venues thrive as Craig does.  Now, having said that, I have never seen a search as bad as this one is.  Search is terrible!  You will find anything in search but what you are looking for. I am still hanging in there because I believe it will get sales, get better and I believe Craig is doing all he can at the moment.  I have a question since I came on board later....Did it change owners before I came on board?  Seems to me a lot of good changes have happened in my time on this venue.  Rant over!!!

No Craig and his wife started this site at first for just them and a few friends and folks began to stumble on it and ask to join and it has gone from there.

I have been on here for a year and 5 months now.
I have some sales but I can't seam to get many sales anywhere much anymore. When I sold the crochet cowboy boots and such for babies I did extremely well over on E. But can't crochet anymore so don't know what to try. I am going with the baby items and the sleep and play buddies for kids right now. Hope they take off pretty good.

I have sold a little at my Bonanza shops, and at my POD design shops. My sales will increase as I'm able to spend more time advertising beyond social media. I made several sales here at Artyah when I first opened last spring. I put my 2 shops on hiatus after last Christmas, and recently reopened in late summer. While I expect to get more sales as I add more products, I am looking beyond the holidays too. I'm developing products that will do well year-round at any of my venues. I'm also designing products that I can produce faster, because it's taking me forever to list, which stunts my sales. So I am not a steady enough seller yet to feel the crunch of decreasing sales everywhere. I know it's happening and effecting other sellers severely, but I'm still very optimistic, because I believe that my success anywhere is largely dependent upon what I do myself, and how I do it.

@ Artsy.     '...but I'm still optimistic, because I believe that my success anywhere is largely dependent upon what I do myself, and how I do it.'

Anyone who wants to sell or continue to sell their product MUST be optimistic. Or you're defeating yourself and what you want to do.

'...success anywhere is largely dependent upon what I do myself, and how I do it' is not largely all that entails a person's success. You can be the best of the best at what you do, but the bottom line is always going to be supply and demand.

It is unfortunate that sometimes because of a lack of sales a Seller will close up shop just because they think their product is not good enough and/or they are not talented enough for people to buy their creation. Of course, there are other reasons Sellers will close a shop, but I think this one is the cruelest. And I feel for them.

Yes, you must depend on yourself to do everything in your power to make it work...but sometimes that is not enough. So you brush off the hurt and disillusionment and attack again. That's fortitude!

To SewNSewSister.  In response to your "it is unfortunate that sometimes etc. etc."

Sometimes people leave a selling venue because they can see the writing on the wall!  Perhaps they sell very well elsewhere, because their products are very good quality, and they are accustomed to much higher sales.  Perhaps, they take their business seriously, which means time is money, and should not be wasted on unsuccessful, unfinished sites.

Do you always write in platitudes, rather than normally??
