Glad it is in the works - can't be soon enough!

As to the forums, I'm sorry, but I find this one hard to navigate and keep up with. IMO, one of the main reasons for Etsy's success is their community forums, which are onsite and very easy to navigate. Building a sense of community is key to the success of this type of venue. I am positive that interaction would increase dramatically if an onsite forums were also part of the rebuild.

I check this one once a day but not every day. When I was selling on Etsy, I'd spend hours on their forums throughout the day and evening. It was great to be able to interact with community members and also see notifications of convos and sales pop up at the same time.

I used to e on each one of them.

I used to sell my paintings really well on Ebay until they started burrying the small sellers and that put a stop to that

And I used to be on Artfire. I was one of the original members when they first started but sales were never very good over there. Tried them again last year and still the same thing

Barb I was on Artfire also. It just never took off for me after a handful of sales. I left after 6 months.  Was on Ebay also until last year. Did OK but it started getting too expensive. Now besides it being more expensive, there are so many hoops to jump thru I don't plan on going back.

Still with Etsy, but if they raise the listing fee I will probably leave. That place has been so screwed up this past year (and Sellers are taking the hit time and again). Are you currently on Folksy?

My sales are higher than ever on etsy this year, so whatever they're doing that everyone is complaining about, is working great for me.

Barb I just went to their site and they are in the UK. It says they are "hand crafted gifts and supplies from UK designers-makers".

I agree we need a shopping cart and the forum is clunky.
I'm not complaining about lack of sales here tho.
I think the site has promise.
My sales on etsy are crazy right now even without slashing my prices with their silly sales.
I expect by next year, ArtYah will be on par.

Yup on cart and foum - I think both forums are not very user friendly and having 2 dilutes the few people, who actually post, into almost nothing. Community feeling is big in the beginning of handmade venues - I've bought so kany things on Etsy, from people in forums, just to support them, esp. my first years, so if a new more functional forum space will be available on the new platform, that would be awesome.

I do like etsy forum layout much better.
It's more conducive for seller to seller sales.

I agree that having two forums is strange and have asked CS about just having this one for discussions and maybe keeping the google one for posting new items.  I much prefer this one to Et because I hated that nesting, makes conversations so difficult to follow and you have to hunt for replies if the threads get more than a page or two long.  This one where you can "quote" posts and easily see latest topics is much easier for me.

If there is something you do not like then why not explain exactly why, we never know if suggestions may get seen and incorporated into later designs [smile]

I find the other one is much easier both for posting and viewing pictures.

I agree about the viewing pictures, but it is not very easy to have "conversations" there unless they are the most recent as they soon drop off the top

I'm doing good on etsy too. I am not in the same spots as usual for search but I still am showing up in search. Having repeat buyers helps too. I have made more revenue this year then in 2016  and October and November are 2 of my best months this year. January is the third. I will be staying there.
