So, Etsy is raising their fees. Here are some questions for you guys:

1. Are you going to try selling here?

2. Are you inviting friends over to Artyah as buyers/sellers?

3. Will you abandon Etsy?

Yes to 1. & 2. No to 3.

I have 1 active shop here, and 1 dormant one.

I have and continue to share AY as a handmades alternative. I answer any questions that are asked. I've been here since spring 2016.

I'm going to stick it out at Etsy for now as a challenge I gave myself. I'm a new seller there and I knew what I was getting myself into. Have had my buyer membership for yrs and was always on the fence about opening shop, so I know how E has evolved, or devolved, rather. Promised myself I'd give my 2 shops at least 2 yrs there.

@Diane
Was chatting with you and suddenly I couldn't see any more of my msgs added in the chat window. Was telling you that the G+ group is now for images/listings only. All discussions are being done here at the onsite community.

I’m not going to abandon my Etsy shop...yet. Been selling there since 2007 and do have repeat customers.
However I will be re-evaluating how much I list on Etsy. As items expire I am migrating them to Artyah. In hopes that others are doing the same here. Trying to promote both shops evenly so my followers have options.
I’ve been trying to spell out the benefits of Artyah as an Etsy alternative to team members on Etsy. As the expression goes, paraphrased, you can lead the artistic horse to water you just can’t make it drink.
I think folks have been burned by so many upstarts that tried to lure them from Etsy and either were unscrupulous or just never took offf ,that they are tired.
Personally I have been very skeptical and studied a lot of sites before landing at Artyah. I do believe in this platform and hope it takes off. Sadly for it to happen folks have got to stop drinking the Etsy kool aid and take the risk. I get it, they are hungry for sales and don’t feel the motivation to “try again”.
However I am optimistic if enough of us are regularly posting to social media and sellers see the Artyah name enough times they may take the risk of trying a new venue. Just sharing my two cents.

I'm planning to stay at Etsy - my sales are up about 40% over last year and I do have quite a few repeat customers. I've been here for over 2 years now and have yet to make a single sale, so I'm kind of discouraged, but still hoping for the best.

1. Are you going to try selling here?

Yes! I've been wanting to return here for some time now. The last time I was here, it was very slow for me. I only made about three sales, all from the same person who I don't think is around anymore. But I'd like to spread myself to every marketplace I can find, so I'll be making my return here soon.

2. Are you inviting friends over to Artyah as buyers/sellers?

I wish I could, but sadly, I don't have many friends who are crafters. [frown] But I will try to advertise ArtYah a lot more on my social medias. I understand that people are wary of other sites though.

3. Will you abandon Etsy?

I don't think I ever will give up my Etsy shop, unless they did something so incredibly drastic that I completely disagree with or that will definitely make me lose profit. I've worked hard to maintain my little shop, and being such a small seller, I kinda depend on the buyer base there. As much as I advertise myself, I still don't have a full customer base to branch out on my own. Regardless of what Etsy is doing, I still kinda depend on it's traffic. [thumb]

I've already had an ArtYah shop for quite awhile now and plan on staying.  I don't really have anyone to invite to join the site.  And I will be staying with Etsy, eBay, and Aftcra until they either shut their doors or kick me out. 😃  The more sales the merrier (I am).  Even with Etsy's increase in fees, the total expenses that the site costs me isn't very much at all.  If I'm willing to spend so much with eBay, I certainly don't mind what Etsy charges.  Now, if I could start getting tons of sales on ArtYah and Aftcra, I would probably reduce my presence on eBay and Etsy to save on fees.

Thank you all for your answers. Remember to recommend the site to your friends or just people you know. Assure them it's a safe site. We need to encourage people to shop here, even if the site itself is still so flawed...
