Hi everyone! I haven't listed anything here in about a year and have come back to alot of changes.
How do I import only some of my listings from Etsy?

Do i deactivate the ones I don't want to import until it my items come over here?

Hope I'm in the right forum section.[smile]

I will bump your post for you but I don't have a clue.  I added mine one at a time in both shops so I could make sure everything was different and as I wanted it.  You have to edit every item to add postage  and there is quite a bit of formatting you can do to make your shop individual [biggrin]

Hi Christine! Thanks. That is what I have been doing since this morning . Only have 4 so far. I've changed the titles and 1st sentence in description.

I was reading an Etsy thread earlier today about ArtYah and someone was asking the same question and came up with a genius idea I hadn't thought of: if it isn't too risky to your Etsy sales to do this, deactivate all listings you DON'T want to list on ArtYah and then the CSV you generate will only have the active ones you DO want to import.  I haven't tried it, but it sounds like the easiest way yet to only import a certain number of items.  Then, of course, reactivate all the listings as soon as you've downloaded that CSV. [biggrin]

I haven't tried importing yet, but I may try it now that I know of an easier way to generate the file.

I wonder why people do not come here to discuss Artyah insted of doing it there [confused] [biggrin]    It must give anyone on Etsy admin who is interested an insight to what is happening here and that might not be a good thing at times

I think those ArtYah threads are so active for a few reasons.   Some Etsy sellers simply feel more comfortable there because they are used to it, and many sellers are asking questions but haven't yet joined ArtYah so can't be part of the forums here.  I don't mind those threads are continuing to be popular since we regularly get new sellers to come here.  It's a method of advertising ArtYah for free.

It Etsy admin really wanted to spy on ArtYah, they could have any of their employees join as a seller and create a shop to get the scoop on the progress here. (:  That's what I would do!  Well, now I'm actually wondering if we have any moles.  Hmmm.  LOL

Last night I tried that method of deactivating most of my Etsy listings, keeping the ones I wanted to import as active, and creating a CSV file from those.  It was a bit tedious to do all the deactivating and activating with 545 listings, but it did work really well in the end and I've imported 81 listings I don't already have on ArtYah.  Editing them will still take awhile.

What might be a simpler way, and does not require deactivating any listings, is to download the etsy csv and edit it before uploading to artyah.

i.e.: download the csv, delete the items you don't want to import, save the file, then upload to artyah.

I'm editing my csv to change etsy descriptions, titles, etc., and remove all etsy references/links before I upload my listings to artyah.  To me that seems like the easier way of doing things, but then again, I am a computer geek [wink]
