Never really done this method before, but I'd like to import some listings I have up on Etsy and I don't want to have to copy/paste like I usually do (the whole listing process is my least favorite!). When I upload the CSV file, will my entire active listings be automatically imported or do I have the option to pick and choose which listings I want?

I think you need to edit the CSV file before you upload it to pick and choose the items you want.  After uploading you will need to edit and tweak each item to get correct layout, categories etc.  It is not as simple as upload and leave 😉

That's what I figured! Thank you so much!

Hi!

I am unable to upload my Etsy CSV file to Artyah today. I keep getting this error message sent to my email address: "Your File failed pre-validation.  No action has been taken."

Has anyone else had this problem or have any ideas about how to solve it?

Thank you!

Allison

Thanks

I decided to fill up my shop here again on Artyah.  I just tried to import my listings from Etsy and then got an email that said the import failed.  Is there something I am missing?  I imported Etsy listings when I started my shop a few years ago and don't remember anything special to do, except to edit each item into categories and make them active.  Any help?

I have no idea. But I love the picture of your kitty.
Someone one on the Artyah Facebook site was asking about joining Artyah also and I told her to contact Craig or his team about importation of items. I'm sure they can walk you through it.

Thank you for the compliment on my cat, Punkin.  I guess I need to change that, she passed about 5 months ago after 12 years with us. She is very much missed.  I did email Craig about not being able to import my file from Etsy.  Thank you.

No need to change the picture. Punkin's spirit is right beside you as you create. I understand the empty feeling when we loose a special pet friend. And the wonderful memories we hold in our hearts forever.

I was about to import items from my shop too, but I can't remember if we get charged the .10 fee as soon as we do the imports? (I have over 300 items, and do not plan to list them all). Or do we get charged as we make them active?

I tried to import my etsy listings last night (January 21st) and I had the same problem too. I tried three times over and each one failed.
Sorry I can not answer your question or offer any help to resolve the situation.

After being away from Artyah for awhile I decided to take a look at it again and was happy to see that although there isn't a "shopping cart" per say the method of payment has improved.
Tried a few times to import items from two of my Etsy shops and got this email - Your File failed pre-validation.  No action has been taken.  Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong?

Is there no one (Craig) here to answer our questions any longer?

Hi, I emailed Craig the other day because I had the same problem.
This what Craig wrote to me, "Etsy had changed their permissions for their listings and allowed special characters to be used in their title field.

We have this available on our next build but not on this one. It is too costly to fix this issue with the our current site.
The only way around this is to remove any commas, periods and dashes out of a title, basically anything that is a special character."

Rachael.

Craig emailed after I contacted him directly.
