Hi there [smile]

I need to revise some listings as there are some mistakes. I could do this last time as I was working in Artyah, but now I can't anymore! Only thing what is possible is: 'Append a note to the description'
What happened?
I tried two different browsers and it's the same with both of them.
Can someone help me please?

Thanks,
Karin

I just noticed that these three items what can not be revised anymore, were  a test purchase I made.
Is this the reason?
If so, it would be great if this can be changed [wink]

Thanks,
~ Karin

I think you can only edit unsold listings as once something is sold, there would be no reason to edit the listing. You can always copy and paste if you want to list a similar item.

I haven't come across this problem but it could be that you can edit after you sell it.

If you have more than 1 in quantity you should be able to still edit it, please let us know if you find out what the problem is.

If we have multiples of something and one sells, does it renew automatically or do we have to do it ourselves?

I think we have to renew ourselves from the ended listings.

So here's the deal, and yes, it is a problem and I hope it gets changed in the future.  I almost always have multiple quantities on all my listings.  Once I sell one of those items in a listing on ArtYah, the description can no longer be edited, only added to (as Karin mentioned).  As long as you still have a quantity remaining after a sale, that listing will still be active and visible to buyers.  If you'd like to "replenish" your quantity then you do need to edit the listing to increase the number again.

For now the only way to edit that listing's description would be to "list similar", create a new listing and end the original one early.  This will cost a new 10 cent fee but since we don't get charged on multiple quantity listings each time we sell something from it (as in the auto-renew fee Etsy charges) it isn't too much of a financial burden. (:

I imagine that someone along the way thought a sold listing would never need changing but I think many of us know that isn't the case.  Since I sell multiples of the same item and sell those items over a period of years, descriptions will undoubtedly need updating and editing from time to time.  Also, I sometimes have a sentence or two that applies to a certain time of year and needs to be changed or removed after a period of time.  And, of course, for those sellers who put processing times in their descriptions, those often need to be extended around the holidays.

Thanks a lot everyone! [smile]

I need to revise some listings because they are imported from Etsy and as long as there are not variations in prices available (not only shape or color ....) I need to change the description - I just saw this too late as my son is working for me in the shop and he didn't know it better [wink]
I will copy those listings to renew them and delete the other ones.

Thanks to all!

Thanks, Michele, for that excellent explanation. I make a numbered computer file for each listing which contains the description and the photos. Then I copy and paste into Artyah. When sold out, it gets moved to the Sold section. I find a lot of uses for this way of keepng track. I also note everything that will help me recreate the item in the future and I still have the photos if I make another.
