Well, I have made a decision. I will be calling it quits very soon. I am not making any sales on here and very few on Etsy. You have to have some volume to be able to pay the fees on Etsy and that for some reason I do not have. And on here I just don't get any sales at all anymore at all.

So I have come up with and idea for me to have something to do.
I am going to start doing container gardening.
I love to garden but am not able to get down on my knees so my sons are going to make me some taller gardening containers for me to use.

I will be starting a close out sale son to get rid of the things I have made up and also a lot of my equipment and other things.

Really hate to do this but for the last 2 years I have been spending way more than I take in and just can't afford it anymore

I'm sorry to hear that, Barb. I've enjoyed your input here on the forum.
But I totally understand your position.
Perhaps in the future you may consider returning.
Lets hope Artyah is able to achieve their dream so that you will have something good to come back to.
The elevated gardens are a lot of creative fun.
Take care.

I'm sorry you have to give up crafting and online selling, two things that you love, Barb. I know others, both in crafting and reselling, who have thrown in the towel after many successful years in the industry. May your life be blessed through container gardening. I love potting plants.

Take care!

So sorry to see you go Barb. You have been a real contributor here and supporter of Artyah. Please know that you will be missed. I know there is a time when all of us have to hit the 'reality' wall and venture forward as we see fit. But, please leave your account open...maybe you'll come back down this road in the future. Blessings.

I was wondering what you all thought. I have tons of stuff to get rid of. Some merchandise and some supplies and tools. I have started listing them on Etsy but with their new fee structure I am afraid I won't come out with anything for myself If I mark them down to closeout prices.
do any of you think it would be worthwhile for me to list them on here instead.
I have fabric, some sewing supplies. Blank bodysuits, cricut cutting machines, cutting dies, cartridges, and so on.
I have already made, crochet baby blankets, baby dresses, some sewn dresses for girls, hand painted baby bodysuits aND BIBS. Other baby bibs, baby fabric shoes and on and on.
What do you all think on this matter?

You can list on Ebay without a shop, you know. I've got 1 100-free-listings and 1 50-free listings promotions going at this time, but they do end soon. They offer a standard of about 50 free listings every month though. Just pay FVF, which they alert you of and then they take automatically from your PPal.

You could also list on your own FBook page and arrange for payment and shipping directly with any customers.

You could list at any of the totally free sites where your listings stay up for eternity, or until you take them down. Shop Handmade is one.

At FBook today, Michelle of Bijou Bead Boutique mentioned PoshMark and how well she is doing there. Probably not a good place for supplies and equipment though.

Doesn't Ebay take about 10% FVF of both your price and the shipping?

I might keep my paintings shop because I will be doing a little painting and maybe put my cards in with it. I have about 400 cards already maid up and this will give me something to do as a hobby because you cannot garden year round and it does not take all of your time. That is if I can get my right arm taken care of. For the last month I haven't ben able to use it. thought it was bursitis like I had once before but the shop did not do it any good. Had ex rays taken yesterday so hopefully I will hear something today as to what the problem is.

It is a high FVF, but I have stuff to get rid of that's not handmades, so I don't care. I think it would be a good place to move some of your equipment. You can decide what price you want, set the actual price higher and open up the listing to offers. You can limit how low of an offer you will accept, and anyone who offers lower than that will be auto-declined. For me, it's a good way to get rid of stuff around the house.
