Hi, everyone!

I am having an interesting situation over my shop as I have a potential buyer for a jewelry item. The issue is that the client wants me to send her my paypal e-mail and not make the payment via artyah. I am quite confused about her request.

What should I do?

I am not sure why she would want to do that.

Personally I would tell her that you need/have to do it through ArtYah.
I know on E that would be considered fee avoidance and I would think it should the same for ArtYah.

I have no idea why would a person request paying via paypal by asking my e-mail address and not finalizing the purchase by just clicking that BUY button. Any suggestions?

Diana I am not sure why people are not clicking the buy button.
The buy button is very visible so it is confusing as to why they don't use it.

I wonder if for some reason your buyer is afraid to use the site...........I don't know???

Edited to add......let your buyer know that all purchases on ArtYah are through PayPal.
Maybe that will set the buyers mind at ease.

I would explain that Artyah agreements mean that as she is shopping here you need her to purchase via Paypal via Artyah to protect you both.    Once she clicks the pay now button she can then pay you via Paypal.

I just wrote my client a message explaining that purchases on ArtYah are via PayPal. Hopefully, she won't continue to ask for my paypal e-mail and will just make the purchase on site as it makes no difference in paying option. If she has a problem about it then I sense that it might be something scammy.

Well...haven't heard from my client ever since I wrote that e-mail explaining ArtYah payments go through PayPal.

Will wait a bit longer and maybe write another e-mail to her.

It could be someone who does not like Artyah or admin, or has a beef against the site and doesn't want to support it, but wants your product. Doesn't matter because you wouldn't honor that request I'm sure, since she located the product here at Artyah. I feel it's cheating the venue out of what it's entitled to if a sale is made offsite. The only way that I'd do it, if the person was insistent, is if I had something similar that was not listed here. I'd offer him/her that, and then sell that item to the person directly.

Good luck to you!

So, weird!

Wrote another e-mail explaining how to make the purchase through ArtYah and that orders bought here are going through PayPal but have not received no response from her. So weird! What do you think of this whole situation?

Nothing else you can do except move on. If you're not willing to change your decision and offer her an unethical transaction, what else is there? I'd forget it and put it behind me. So much scamming and mess going on that I am leery of any strangers asking for odd procedures anyway.

I had a customer who didn't pay, because they wanted to use their credit card and couldn't figure out how to do it on ArtYah.

For those of you who have made purchases, is the process pretty straight-forward, or is it confusing?

I've never had a problem. I use Paypal. Have never tried to use a credit card alone. I think some shoppers have a problem trying or wanting to use PP, because they think they need an account. When the site offers Stripe, or something like Etsy Payments, they use that easily.

Suggest that your buyer follows the Paypal link to pay and then uses their credit card, you can make a certain number of credit card payments though PP without having to actually register with them.
