At this time, we are in the process of moving to another server. We cannot afford this site any longer. We have come out of pocket in the thousands of dollars and financially cannot continue with this expense.. When we get ArtYah 2.0 completed, we will copy our existing database over and send out an email to everyone letting them know we are back online.

Thank you,

Craig

Craig,
Thank you for letting us know what's going on.  I can sympathize with the financial stress you've been experiencing, but I wish we had been notified before the site was shut down so that it wouldn't have caused so much anxiety.  Do you know when 2.0 will be completed?
Thank you!

I wish I could have been notified, so that I could have copied all the descriptions of my items for sale, like I had to do when ALittleMarket folded.
Only 3 sales in over 18 months, and now this.

I hope that you won't lose your descriptions, too.  So much time goes into their creation, it sure would p*** me off, to lose all of them.

Just as we file our photos into folders, I have 'master' documents of each of my descriptions that I created in Word.  I then copy each one into any site's listing.  Even if you only type with 2 fingers, it's worth the initial work, so that when a site closes (or whatever), you haven't permanently lost all of your descriptions.

If your electronic device doesn't happen to have a word processing program, you can still create a master copy, by typing and sending an email to yourself.

If you need help (or for anyone else) on how to do this:

a)  Create a new email folder, and name it 'Descriptions'.
b)  Compose a new email, and put the name of the description, in the email's subject line, to find it easily in future.
c)  Send the email to yourself.
d)  Move the sent email, to your new 'Descriptions' folder.

If you ever need the description, just copy its text, and paste it into the new listing; this works in the same way that Word does.

Wishing you lots of luck that you haven't lost your work!

Debra

I think the majority of us understand Craig's decision. But it's just a shame we didn't have ANY warning at all that this was going to happen. I had such high hopes for Craig and all of us.

It would have been nice to be notified so everyone could save their descriptions for listings.
I feel so bad for everyone that will have to start over writing all their descriptions.  [frown]

I hope that he is able to get ArtYah back up and running.

Debra's advice is perfect. I do all my descriptions in Word and save in a folder. I also put all my photos in a folder. If you didn't before, maybe use this "down time" to do so. I trust that everything will cross over to the new site successfully but, just in case....
