Sigh... no hope, then.  Inactive listings on Etsy stay almost forever.  Even inactive shops I opened years ago still have my listings.  So I thought this was the norm and that I had time to deal with it.  Some warning would have been nice so that I would have had a heads up that everything was about to get flushed down the toilet.

Unfortunately if you relisted before the 9th of March I don't think they will come back [frown]

I decided to upload those missing photos myself, but then, of course, started catching up with some editing on each listing and all of a sudden I'm spending way more time than I wanted to! 😃  I've gotten a whole five listings updated since last night.  haha

That is the same with mine. There are about 20 listings without pictures and they all expire soon.  I bet that's it, otherwise everything looks great.

I have found out the hard way that expired listings will stay on the site for about 2 weeks and then get deleted if nothing is done with them. When I first started selling here at AY the same thing happened to me. Now I keep an eye on it.

I think  they are trying to keep server space free? That's my guess anyway. Hopefully this won't happen  on the new build.

I think an email with that info would benefit sellers also would be great to mention in FAQs. I think most would assume the expired listings would stay put until they need them. Nothing wrong with saving space, but informing would help. (I had no idea that happens here and assumed mine would be ready to activate)

I agree.........they need to let sellers know about this since most think their expired listings will still be there if/when they need them.

Yes, we need to know about listings that are expired and that there is a time frame involved. If they get deleted and you want to relist, then you have to start from scratch again to list. I understand about Server space, but we need that heads up to avoid unnecessary work on our end.

For the last few days (since I told Craig it was not happening) he has switched on the expired items notification again, so when anything expires now you should be notified, which means sometimes you could have lots of very similar emails coming though so keep an eye on your spam boxes or make sure ArtYah is whitelisted.

I suppose I think items will automatically be deleted if not used because ebay is my main other site rather than etsy and everything gets deleted there - sales and purchases (which is a big pain), messages and any expired listings.

You can save all your expired listings as a web-page in a folder on your hard drive or a thumb drive.

Go to your expired or ended list, click on edit, right click anywhere on the page except a photo, select save as, and put it in a folder so you can find them.

Those pages don't disappear and you have your listing to view at any time.  You can use copy and paste to list the item again and have your description, key or tag words, etc.  You can do the same thing for any item page in your shop.  I did this to all my Etsy items when they were going to suspend my shop.  I also took all my Etsy items and uploaded them to Bonanza so I have them all there also.

Too late for back-ups...way too late.  Gone is gone.  Days of my life literally wasted on this.  I am just sick.

I think this is a good idea to get these emails. Ebay sends out expired listings emails.
