I like it here too. I've shopped a little already and like it very much. The search seems much easier to navigate than Etsy. As a costume seller, I can tell you that I am SO grateful to have a special category for costumes and even another one for festival wear.

I just want to be with you all when the site takes off. I believe it will.
My business will grow here because I will do all I can to make it so.
Thank you Craig for all the work you're doing and will continue to do.
Business is important to me but I want integrity.

I don't know how to start a new thread, so I'm posting this here.  I noticed today that many of my photos are distorted.  I checked around and it's that way in other shops, too.  What was changed?  And can admin change it back?  This looks terribly unprofessional to a buyer.  I'm prepared to wait for improvements and new things (like control over shop sections) because this site is still new and growing.  BUT I must have good pics of my items.  My pics were okay before, so I'm assuming it's a programming glitch??  Please let me know.  Thanks!

I hope it is 'just a phase we are going through' also.  I loved how my shop photos looked before, please put them back as they were

Hi
Images are currently scaling to 208 x 220 pxl so I am guessing they would need to be" almost" square, your first item, face with hat is 316 x 460 pxl

My crochet shop are all square and look okay, nail art are mostly close with some distortion, but vintage I will need to redo some of them again if it stays like this, this has only just been released so will wait and see.  Looks good though.

To start a new thread.  Go to categories and choose the most appropriate board  (The first one is for Artyah's announcements), once in the most appropriate board you will notice a  "New Topics" tab on the right hand side, just click that to start a new thread.

I have existed and sold on Etsy for several years now by working within the system of SEO/Relevance or whatever the heck it is. I admit to a limited understanding of social media and how to drive traffic, in short a compleat idjit.  If any one can direct me to a good basic (very Basic) source of info on how to get started... or can share their knowledge, I would appreciate it.... very much.

I am sure there are others like me, willing but lacking the skills/understanding necessary.  Has anyone started any teams or such for this purpose?

Just realised you were not replied to, I can only answer for twitter as that is the only SM I use.  It is getting our items seen and putting the ArtYah name out and about and I think that is the most important thing at the moment.  I have noticed that when I tweet items the views go up, and when I have time (I do try most days) to go there I do a search for artyah.com and artyah and follow and retweet an item from those other Artyah sellers, many of whom in turn retweet mine, this means they have the opportunity to be seen at various times of day by other users.  You can use the SM icons under your items to share them

I believe there is a FB team tweeting on twitter, you will find details of AY SM in this thread

otherwise we are all one team trying to help each other [smile]

I appreciated the fact that your keeping this************** handmade********one of the few venues that are these days, handmade is becoming almost a lost art.
Many blessings to you and much success on your new platform.

Almost all pics are looking very bad after the change into a square pic [eek]
I hope this will be changed back to how it was before.
I do not mind hanging in here and try to support Craig with t-shirts or what else, but I do not have the time to take new pics and almost all of my listings are made to order.... so I can't take pics anyway until I make the beads.

I'm sorry to say I need to leave this site if this doesn't change back. I really would hate to leave as I like it here and I think this site will be getting great as it grows, but this is a no go how the pics look like.

Yes my shop looks like I am in fun house.  Items in pictures are stretched out long and in some they are squished up.  Not a pretty sight!

Just did a search on site for Kitchen towels and my photos are the same way there too!!  Some look like tiny miniature towels and some look like monster towels compared to ones next to them.  Not getting any sales and this surely won't help that.

I really like it here and appreciate the quick responses to questions and how hard Craig and the team work.  I was on etsy since 2010 and ended up feeling awful about the site...I felt handmade had built it into what it was, only to be pushed practically right off the face of it behind mass produced items.  I was working hard bringing people to my shop only to have them suggested away. If I were staying anywhere, I would be staying right here.  Etsy sure didn't grow overnight, and it had the advantage of being unique at the time.  Unfortunately, I am retiring from online sales at the end of this year, to just do the occasional local show.

If you don't have all of your eggs in one basket, it sure doesn't cost a lot to give ArtYah the chance to get going.  I know I sure had a lot of trial and error when I first opened business, and I was just having to take care of me.  I will be back as a buyer on ArtYah, after the end of the year.  [smile]  I look forward to seeing the rebuild.
