Hey Everyone,

Just a quick update to let everyone know that we are moving in a tiny, little different direction. We have had so many requests over the last year from everyone and unfortunately, with our current platform we cannot provide these changes.

We have tried time and time again to get things done. Shopping cart, shipping calculations, variations with pricing, search results, etc... A lot of time and money spent without success.

We are building a new platform. A new platform will allow us to do everything that we have always wanted to provide because we will build our platform specific to our needs.

We will still maintain the existing site and continue building the new platform. When our new platform is finished we will move over our database and work on all of the features that everyone has wanted. This time our time and money will be well spent.

For those of you that are hanging in, THANK YOU!

ArtYah ~

If I was Craig I would be reluctant to reply to this as we might try and hold him to it and I would guess this is a major undertaking to get everything to tie in and you never know just how much work/time will be involved until you get to the final testing stages  [smile]

Sounds terrific!  Most of us are getting antsy and impatient but look at it this way...we will have more time to get our shops in order and I can only imagine what ArtYah is going through with their own problems and then all of our problems also.  It's getting better and better....HOLD ON!!!

I also list on ebay, ebluejay (on vacation there - no sales ever), etsy and here. I am not getting any sales on ebay, they dried up for me  at the same time artyah did. A few months ago. Am I giving up on ebay and artyah, NO. I will be staying at artyah, ebay and etsy. I am getting sales at etsy but it is a lot more difficult to do now with all the changes they've made and continue to do, but I will stick it out there too. I think there is opportunity for online selling venues still. It's all about the technology now, I think in the future more people will be using the web then ever before. I am just excited for the new artyah site and the future here! [smile]

Thank you for the update.

In the interim, are there things that we as sellers can help with?  Focused marketing, social media, etc?  Crowd source coding, graphic design, etc?

Website development is definitely not fun and I prefer being active on a marketplace rather than trying to drive traffic solely to my website.

Good luck with the course correction and see if you can find a way to help us help you.

I am looking forward to the day I will get as many sales here as I do elsewhere and do believe it will come - which is why I have my new one of a kind items listed here.  I have over 400 items here over three shops and recently relisted most of them.  I too am excited for the new ArtYah platform

Since the subject came up about team players and contributing to the success of ARTyah...

I have existed and sold on Etsy for several years now by working within the system of SEO/Relevance or whatever the heck it is. I admit to a limited understanding of social media and how to drive traffic, in short a compleat idjit.  If any one can direct me to a good basic (very Basic) source of info on how to get started... or can share their knowledge, I would appreciate it.... very much.

I am sure there are others like me, willing but lacking the skills/understanding necessary.  Has anyone started any teams or such for this purpose?

Well, I'm sure not going anywhere. In fact, I'm working on adding more listings. Also, I was working on a website for my papercraft items but due to changes in my personal life, I've had to put that on hold. So, going to post those here, as well.

With what Etsy has been pulling on their sellers, I'm quite surprised that anyone is promoting their Etsy shops but I guess that is their decision. Etsy's success was a direct result of sellers promoting their shops. Etsy still doesn't advertise and prefers to let sellers do it for them. Craig is advertising Artyah. I think the least sellers here can do is help promote and keep listing. I think the new venue sounds very promising. At any rate, I'll be here to find out and not just jump on board after it becomes successful.

Wishing everyone good sales no matter what they decide to do.

So very happy to hear the latest update for Artyah.

I admit I am disappointed that the new site will not be up and running til after the Christmas Season, but I see such good things happening when it does! I feel it will definitely be worth the patience to wait it out. For those of us willing to roll the dice in favor of Craig we just need to keep promoting and then promote some more!

Thank you Craig for your devotion and sacrifices in time and money and to so many who believe 'You Can Do It'!
